Main purpose of role:
The successful candidate will play an integral role in the lifecycle of the warehouse; ensuring that Warehouse duties and activities assigned by the Stores Coordinator are carried out to a high standard in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Required to work safely and to a high level of quality at all times in line with the company and departmental standards.
  • Required to behave responsibly and diligently and conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.
  • Required to work to the Safety, Quality, Delivery Cost & People (SQDCP) principles of the department as outlined below.
Safety
  • Take care of own health and safety by operating safely and lead by example, ensure the safe checking of warehouse equipment and co-operate with others at all times on health & safety matters as per warehouse procedures.
  • Assist by resolving Warehouse Safety audit findings when necessary.
  • You will also be required to assist with resolving any chemical spills on site in line with COSHH.
Quality
  • Maintain your designated area of the Warehouse complex in line with internal procedures that stem from internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), cGMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and GDP (Good Distribution Practice) principles.
  • Highlight and report any potential damage or defect to material is reported to your line manager.
  • Assist by resolving Warehouse Weekly area audit findings when necessary.
Delivery
  • Maintaining a smooth flow of materials to the production lines on time and in full.
  • Picking works orders for the packaging cubicles and processing returned materials and any post production runs left over from any packaging runs.
  • Follow internal procedures when transferring pharmaceutical products across our sites.
  • When authorised, support the Warehouse Shift Lead with other general warehouse activities or administrative duties required within the department.
Cost/Lean - People
  • Support the Stores Co-ordinator in implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) projects within the warehouse.
  • Take a proactive attitude towards training and development opportunities.
  • Be available for overtime requirements to support the business during busy periods or to help cover the department due to unforeseen circumstances.
Knowledge, experience, qualifications & skills required:
Essential:
  • Sound judgement for well-rounded and consistent decision making
  • Ability to prioritise work to meet tight deadlines
  • A competent level of computer literacy
  • A good work ethic with a commitment to learning and developing new skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Able to carry out manual tasks and follow clearly defined processes
  • Ability to work well in busy conditions and operate effectively within a team
  • Able to verbally communicate at all levels in a clear and concise manner
  • Educated to GCSE level including Maths and English
Desirable:
  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience of working within Warehouse Operations
