Job description
On a quiet day across Kettle, the Distribution Crew may handle 30,000 trays. Winter sees it increase to around 60,000. Christmas peak can see over 90,000 trays a day.
Distribution is the last piece of the Kettle Produce onsite jigsaw – building up the pallets to order and getting the fresh produce onto (and off!) the HGVs.
Our Ideal Candidate
~ experience of working within racked and bulk stacked warehouses is highly desirable
~ forklift experience is desirable
~ any relatable work experience required
~ reasonable physical abilities due to the manual aspect of the role
~ team player (you and your buddy will team up to work the shift together)
~ happy to rotate between the two key roles - forklift and order picking
~ comfortable working in a chill environment of 3 degrees
~ technology savvy
~ excellent timekeeper, reliable and friendly
~ at least a basic understanding of verbal and written English
What the job involves
> picking and pallet building orders
> counterbalance, reach and Pivot steer driving
> loading or unloading pallets of goods onto warehouse racking
> logging pallets into and out of the storage area
> off-loading and loading of trailers
> working in a 2 person team, covering both key elements of the rolev
> self motivation as there will be many occasions where you will be working unsupervised

All offers are subject to a satisfactory Occupational Health Screen. Interviews are on site and will include a show round of the chill area
Training for new starts including
- Food Safety Level 2, GMP training, Integrity & Segregation, HSE Policy, Manual Handling
- Other training on the job including forklift and pivot steer, which will enable you to move up through the pay ranges
- There is also the opportunity to request or be nominated for other training, provided by the Kettle Produce Academy

Essentials to Consider
<> How will you get to site and from site? Please consider this before applying if relying on public transport as some shifts start as early as 0500am.
<> Can you prove your right to work in the UK? We will ask for original documentation. Passport or birth certificate and official proof of National Insurance Number. If you do not have these documents, we would not be able to offer you a start date. Birth Certificates and NI proof can easily be applied for, so we would ask you do this before sending in your application.
<> Non-UK Residents will be asked to supply their Home Office Share Code prior to invite to interview.
<> We are a 364 days a year company, closed only on Christmas Day. We work bank holidays, including Boxing Day.
We are unable at the present time to offer shifts suitable for students with any restricted working hours during term time (usually 20 hours).
The Recruitment Process
We invite shortlisted candidates to an onsite interview with a member of our production management team. This is a chance to tell you about Kettle and the role, and for us to get to know you and see how your experience and skills could bring value to our team. You will then get the chance to tour our factory to see for yourself what goes on in the big green shed!
If we mutually agree it is the right role for you, you will be contacted regarding a start date, and we will set up your induction plan.
