Job description
Thames Valley Police (TVP) is making a significant, multi-year investment in our Forensic Services and is transforming our wide array of forensic disciplines as well as crime scene investigation, to create a forward looking, accredited service which delivers proportionate, timely services that support effective crime investigation for TVP and other external organisations.
In this important role, you will manage and develop the Force’s Forensic Submissions Unit, ensuring that Thames Valley Police has cost effective and efficient forensic submissions processes. You will make best use of forensic science and technology in the support of crime investigation, detection and reduction. The post holder will manage the service provision and performance of external forensic science providers.
It is essential that you have extensive forensic knowledge, including digital forensics, along with proven experience of leading a team. You will also have proven analytical skills and a high level of IT literacy skills.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake the established psychological screening process.
Along with all other posts in Force Crime, Intelligence and Specialist Operations Departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.

Vetting. All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner.
