When you join Peters' Food Services, you will become part of one of the UK’s largest family food manufacturers, based in Bedwas, Caerphilly.
Position: Culinary Technologist
Hours: Core hours of work will be Monday to Friday 8am until 4pm, however flexibility would be required to meet the business needs including the occasional working at weekends, evenings and hours outside of core.
Be hands on in the development of new food products and product improvements, from initial concept brief, formulation, trial to full factory production in accordance with customers development processes and Codes of Practice.
Coordinating pre and post trial paperwork and activities.
Liaising with retail customers in the creation of new products and continuous improvement of existing product sku’s.
Communicating with retail customer teams to provide development information on your accounts to ensure good relations, service, continuous building of business and to maintain critical paths for product launch following the internal NPD process.
Documenting all work according to established procedures and guidelines and to prepare or assist in generating various project reports to project personnel and other parties, to ensure complete communication of project status, progress, issues, solutions, timelines, and accountability.
Develop knowledge of raw materials and factory processes to help develop new products or make suggestions to improve existing products. This includes working closely with the Commercial, Category, Procurement, Production and Technical departments.
Hosting both internal and external customer product sampling panels as part of development cycle, evaluating results and achieving the target product profile to achieve a successful launch.
Maintaining awareness of industry trends, consumer requirements and the origination of novel ingredients and processes, utilising an in-depth knowledge of the role and interaction of food ingredients and process.
