Job description

Updown is a magical farmstead with acres of beautiful garden and woodland situated just outside Deal, Kent. We've been hosting regular supper clubs with hyper seasonal menus and the occasional guest chef over the last year and are soon to be open as a restaurant with rooms from July 2022.

We’re looking for kitchen team-members to join us in delivering a friendly, intimate service with a keen attention to quality and detail at this exciting juncture.

Candidates should be reliable, have a positive mind-set & strong work-ethic. Be prepared to work to a high standard.

What you’ll be doing as a Kitchen team member: Being yourself, working hard, supporting the wider kitchen team, owning your section & taking pride in a job well done.

Main responsibilities:
- Clearing and cleaning kitchen, crockery & equipment
- Keep the kitchen areas in a clean and tidy state at all times
- Assist in the preparation of food as required
- Setting up and closing down before and after service
- Understanding and being mindful of food safety and hygiene
- Undertake duties in the kitchen & service areas as requested to ensure an efficient and effective service is delivered at all times
- Project a willing and helpful attitude to colleagues & customers

Food hygiene L2 certification will be required & can be sponsored if needed.

We’re set in a rural location, so your own car or reliable alternative is required.

Weekend working required.

Training will be provided, but experience is preferable.

Hourly rate based on experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 12-40 per week

Salary: £9.50-£11.50 per hour
