Job description
The Boatyard is an independent brunch café a stone’s throw from Cullercoats Bay. We’re looking for someone to join our team as a Kitchen Porter.

Since opening in 2015 we’ve made a strong reputation as a go-to brunch spot on the coast. From our full-English, to colourful vegan meals our food has seen us pick up strong reviews and repeat customers

We’re open 8:00-5:00 daily, and on busy days hit over 150 covers
About You:
- physically capable of a demanding job in a busy kitchen
- Punctual & reliable with good timekeeping
- Basic English or above required
- Positive attitude & sense of humour
- Organized & flexible with the role
- High hygiene standards, as you'll be helping us maintain our Five Star Food Hygiene certificate
The Job:
- Work under the Head Chef & Café Manager
- An important job in the heart of the busy kitchen
- Hand-washing dishes, cleaning tasks, along with other duties
- Flexible approach to the job - taking food to tables and communicating with customers, as well as helping the chefs with kitchen tasks is part of the job
- Over time, a chance to gain kitchen experience with more chef duties/shifts, or learning front of house skills such as customer service and coffee making
Details:
- We're looking for someone to commit to Saturdays or Sundays (ideally both days), with extra work available during holidays and to cover days off
- Daytime shifts, as café closes at 5pm
- Free meal & coffee on shift

- Rough shift times: Saturday/Sundays 9:00-4:30
