Position Title: Food Services Manager
Program: Facilities/Operations.
Position Type: Full-time, 1.0 FTE, 40 Weekly Hours

Salary: $40.60 hourly/$84,448.00annually
Term: Permanent
Start Date: As soon as possible
Schedule: Monday-Friday, hours to be confirmed; requirement to participate in after hours on call rotation. Schedule must be flexible to meet the needs of the program.

Job requires employee to have a valid class 5 drivers license (learners and new drivers licenses are not sufficient) with a clear abstract and your own vehicle. You will be reimbursed for the mileage and for the difference between business and casual use insurance.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Food Services Manager oversees all aspects of the day-to-day management of an organized, safe and cost-effective Food Services program at RainCity Housing, serving a diverse range of individuals, many of whom are living with mental illness and/or substance use. Reporting to the Director, Facilities, the Food Services Manager ensures food preparation and safe food handling practices and procedures are followed in accordance with established policies and procedures and licensing requirements, to ensure high-quality, nutritious and appealing meals for clients.
The Food Services Manager ensures allocation of the necessary fiscal, technological, physical and human resources required to meet the purchasing, production, delivery, cafeteria, and other food services related requirements of the organization. They are responsible for the hiring, dismissal, discipline, development and performance evaluation of Food Services staff and volunteers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 7 years of recent, related experience in catering, institutional cooking, and/or a non-profit food services setting, including at least 3 years in a management capacity leading unionized staff
- Food Safe certification
- Non-profit experience preferred
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered
- Class 5 driver’s license
- Ability to understand, communicate and support the mission and values of RainCity Housing, and the models/methods of supporting clients including the principles of Housing First and Harm Reduction
