Job description
Working hours will be: Monday - Thursday, 8am - 4pm (including 40min lunch break and 20 min morning break).
We are looking for a highly motivated, hands-on individual to join our small friendly production team, manufacturing alternative meat products in our production facility in Glasgow, with the opportunity to progress to permanent employment.
You should be able to work under pressure and for long hours in a physically demanding environment. You will be required to assist kitchen staff with production workflow, while maintaining cleanliness throughout the work spaces and helping with production tasks as and when required by the production team.
This role will involve standing for long periods of time and working in both warm and cool temperatures. It will also involve repeated lifting and carrying heavy ingredients and products.
We will provide full training and a production uniform when you join us, however we do ask that you are able to communicate in English both verbally and in writing to a good standard, and that you are numerate and literate.

Key tasks:
- Cleaning surfaces, utensils and equipment.
- Cleaning the floor and disposing of kitchen waste and rubbish correctly.
- Following hygiene and safety practices as instructed.
- Restocking ingredients and consumables (heavy lifting).
- Stock counting, checking sell-by dates and rotating stock.
- Assisting with manual manufacture and production tasks, maintaining cleanliness and smooth workflow.
- Use of trolleys and moving equipment (heavy lifting).
- Completing forms as required.
Essential requirements:
- Good manual handling skills, familiar with food production environment and equipment.
- Level 2 Hygiene certification for food handling. (This is highly preferred, if you don’t have one or yours has expired we can provide courses).
- Good understanding of hygiene and safety practices.
- Previous experience in food production essential.
Contract length: 3 months probation period.
