Aston University is looking for an external examiner for the Nursing Studies (Registered Nurse Adult Nursing) BSc (Hons) course. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in our newly- approved pre-registration programme.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced academic staff. The successful applicant must be registered on the appropriate part of the NMC register.
Aston University offers support for external examiners provided by the Programme Lead and module team.
The appointment will be from September 2023 to September 2027.
The majority of assessments can be reviewed remotely. You will be required to view a selection of scripts for designated assessments and complete an external examiner report for each set of assessments reviewed. At the end of the academic year, an annual report is required. Exam boards are held annually, and it is also desirable that the external examiner can visit students and practice assessors/ supervisors in placement.
As External Examiner you are expected to review the quality of assessments for the programme and produce a report for the assessment boards. The hours required for this post are divided over the academic year in line with assessment submissions and board dates.
