Job description
We’re looking for Food Production Operatives to join the production team at a well-established cheese company in Leek, Staffordshire.

Supporting Irish dairy processors and Irish dairy farmers, they market and sell their dairy products on behalf of their members. They have been present in the UK for over 50 years and today, are one of the leading suppliers of dairy products in the UK.

Operating out of a new £30 million cheese packing facility in Leek, this has been designed to be the most efficient and environmentally friendly in Europe.
The Role
The company is expanding and looking to improve its quality and quantities within the production teams.
They are seeking motivated, reliable candidates to oversee and ensure the production of their dairy products runs efficiently.
Experience of working within a warehouse or production role previously is desirable, but not essential.
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Packing products
- Labelling products
- Secure stacking of products onto pallets for storage and distribution
- Unpacking
- De-boxing various items
- Feeding machinery with materials
Other duties will include general warehouse maintenance (cleaning of work stations and equipment, etc)
Environment:
The working areas are very clean and modern however they are cold due to the nature of the product. It is a cigarette, nut and glass-free site. Once on site you’re not permitted to leave, meaning that breaks are paid for.
2 breaks are usually available, one being 20 minutes and the other 25 minutes per shift.
There is a vaping area outside, however smoking is prohibited and you’re not permitted anywhere on the premises. This also means you can not leave the site to have a smoke.
The Offer
These are long-term temporary positions (working within core teams)
They have a subsidised canteen on site and offer free fruit on a Wednesday and free ice cream on a Friday!!
The salary on offer is paid at hourly rates.
Days – £10.00ph (06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00 set shifts or rotating every week)
Nights – £11.93 (22:00-06:00)
The Shift patterns involve
Days – Monday to Friday
Nights – Sunday to Thursday
