THIS IS A PART TIME POSITION (WED/THURS), HOWEVER A FULL TIME HOURS COULD BE ACHIEVED IF CANDIDATE WOULD CONSIDER WORKING ACROSS TWO LOCATIOONS (BRIDGE OF DON / CITY CENTRE) WEDNESDAY-SATURDAY.
JOB OVERVIEW
Your role will be to assist in the preparation, cooking and packaging of our BBQ slow smoked meats for our menus, according to production needs and weekly schedule; ensuring a quality product is produced in a safe and efficient manner and the kitchen and necessary equipment is kept clean and tidy before, during and after each step in the production process. At times, there may be requirement to assist with other food preparations for outside catering events and the opportunity to work alongside us at off-site and on-site events, which is always good fun with a great team.
Planned schedule of work we are hoping to fill with this position:
Wednesdays (full day)
09:30-16:30hrs - meat prep / packaging up of cooked products / clean-down
Thursdays (could be a half day or full day, depending on candidates availability)
09:30-13:00hrs - vacuum packing / cleaning / preparing orders for delivery
13:30~16:30 - any other food prep (will vary) / delivering orders in and around Aberdeen
Although our prep-kitchen environment is pretty chilled and stress free, the job itself can be quite physically demanding - as we are on our feet for most of the day (aside from breaks, where you can grab a seat on our comfy sofas!) and lifting & carrying (sometimes up to 20kgs) / general cleaning are all part of the natures of this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Preparing raw meat products in an efficient and timely manner to meet production schedules
- Assisting in the manufacturing and packaging of various cooked meat products
- Operating commercial grade kitchen equipment in a safe and careful manner
- Cleaning and general maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment
- Sanitation and general kitchen cleaning duties
- Assist with stock checks, delivery check and order fulfilment
- Ensuring food preparation areas and equipment are kept clean and hygienic at all times and clean down is completed in full at the end of each shift
- Safe storage of food products and cleaning materials to ensure compliance with safety practices and food safety temperature checks are carried out during production
- Food preparation for off-site and on-site Smoke and Soul events
- Participate in ad hoc R&D sessions to help develop new products and improvements
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Previous food handling experience is desired however full training will be provided
- Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate
- Team player attitude, willingness to learn and be flexible with production schedules
- Able to use initiative and work well by yourself or as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- A full driving license is desired but not essential
