Food Centre Kitchen Porter

This is a part time role, 29.6 hours per week spread across 3-5 days per week. Working in a small team within our busy Food Centre, you will contribute to creating a hygienic, professional, and friendly environment for all users by completing tasks such as: cleaning, setting up and clearing down kitchens, and managing food storage spaces.
As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll:
- General cleaning of all kitchens, sampling rooms and storage areas in compliance with operational guidelines.
- Ensure all spaces are set up with the correct equipment in accordance with operational guidelines.
- Follow the daily bookings schedule to ensure each space is cleared, cleaned and re-equipped ready for the next booking.
- Support the management of product deliveries, storage, and disposal.
- Manage the disposal of waste throughout the day via appropriate charity partners or the ‘no food waste to landfill’ process.
- Ensure equipment and food/drink storerooms are clean and tidy, take weekly stock takes and produce order lists.
- Ensure clean PPE is available throughout the Food Centre and collate used PPE ready for weekly pick-up by laundry contractor.
- Complete fridge and freezer temperature checks twice daily, reporting any issues to Food Centre management.
- Support management team on meet & greet of all Food Centre users including briefing on ways of working and food safety procedures.
- Assist in setting up equipment trolleys when required for front of house service or colleague requests.
- Occasionally assist with service at Food Centre events, including front of house.
- Attend and participate in Food Centre daily & weekly briefings.
