Job description

Big White Ski Resort is currently seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Supervisor to lead the team at Clocktower Coffee Co. for the 2023/2024 winter season.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Leading a group of up to 10-12 staff in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of hospitality and service standards
  • Maintaining a strong presence on the floor and leading the team to ensure that all assigned tasks are complete, service standards are upheld and staff grooming is maintained
  • Providing on the floor support to all team members to maintain guest satisfaction levels
  • Assisting the Clocktower Coffee Co. Manager with supervising the outlet while on shift
  • Ensuring the safe and responsible service of alcohol at the venue at all times - all team members must abide to all liquor laws and the terms and conditions of a food primary liquor license at all times
  • Working with the Events Coordinator to execute all Food & Beverage events
  • Performing daily administrative duties relating to payroll, event management, ordering and requisitions
  • Assisting with providing training and support to all team members to achieve guest satisfaction
  • Assisting with SWP & SJP training, ensuring that all team members adhere to these standards at all times
  • Communicating with the management team through writing in manager logs and also verbally on a daily basis
  • Managing all aspects of employee success through 1-on-1s and team coaching
  • Working with the Events Coordinator to execute all Food & Beverage events
  • Entering data for financial reporting, menu printing etc.
  • Assisting with monthly inventory counts

Position requirements/skills:

  • Minimum two years' experience in a fast-paced restaurant/cafe environment in a leadership role
  • Ability to stay focused and organized in a fast-paced environment
  • High knowledge of computers and Squirrel systems (or other POS systems)
  • Cash-handling experience
  • Barista experience is considered an asset
  • Hospitality training is considered an asset
  • Must be 19 years old
  • Valid Serving it Right Certificate
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills in written and verbal correspondence
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Customer-service driven
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and grooming at all times

Physical demands:

  • Ability to work long hours, and expected to work overtime in busy periods and holidays
  • Ability to remain on feet for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50lbs, and bend and push repeatedly
