Role overview
This job is a multi-functional role working across several departments. Each day would be different and would involve working alongside the bakery team, working in the chocolate room and also working with the packing team on the packing lines. With this role you would need to ensure the smooth running of all the departments by upholding company procedures and working with others to maintain standards.
Main duties
· Opening up and closing of the department you are working in, following checklists and instructions as issued
· Ensure high standards of quality is achieved – working consistently to company specs and timings.
· Ensure high standards of food hygiene
· Ensure high standards of personal hygiene
· Ensure agreed timings are met for accepted standards of productivity
· Work in order of priority
· Work in a clean, tidy and organised manner – cleaning as you go!
· Report potential problems on shift in a timely fashion
· Communicate any maintenance issues with shift leader as identified
· Ensure best use of resources and report any low stocks immediately
· Uphold SALSA standards – completing daily and weekly paperwork as required
· Uphold health and safety standards – report any problems to shift leader
· Minimise waste whilst maximising food quality
· Ensure individual responsibilities are carried out to trained standards
· Uphold the company’s image and reputation
· Ensure all company procedure and legal requirements are met
· Report potential problems on shift in a timely fashion
· Any other duty as required
Experience required
Experience in food processing / handling / packing environment. Bakery / food manufacturing experience preferred.
Skills required
Employees must possess the following skills:
Communication skills - ability to communicate effectively with team and to senior management / and support functions.
Food handling – Level 2 in Food safety
Physical requirements - repeated lifting, pulling or pushing, heavy lifting, exposure to temperature extremes, prolonged standing
Interpersonal skills such as customer and colleague interaction
Ability to work in muti functional roles and different departments
Strong team player skills and the ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce.
