Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join the Partnership and Strategic Overview team to help us reduce flood risk to communities across East Hampshire and the Isle Of Wight.
As a Flood and Coastal Risk Management Team Member, you will be involved in a wide range of exciting opportunities that draw upon a diverse range of skills. You will have excellent communication skills and engage with a variety of internal and external partners and customers on flood risk matters. Your work will include responding to flood related data requests and enquiries and supporting the development and delivery of projects and strategic plans to help improve the resilience of communities to flooding, whilst achieving wider environmental improvements. You will also help regulate activities near to rivers or the coast, preventing inappropriate work which could increase the risk of flooding and coastal erosion to others and be environmentally damaging.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
