About the Role
Durham Constabulary is one of the top-performing police forces in the UK. We have an exciting opportunity for a customer focused and resilient Front Counter Clerk to work at the forefront of locality police stations.
As Front Counter Clerk you will be the first point of contact for a wide range of customer enquiries and queries. You will be responsible for providing an effective, efficient and helpful service to visitors and members of the public attending the Police Office, as well as performing a range of administrative tasks within the front counter and administrative office.
Candidates should have a good telephone manner and possess excellent interpersonal skills. The ability to collect, check and evaluate information, together with at least 3 months clerical experience is also requested.
It should be noted that Front Counter Clerks may sometimes be required to work for long periods on their own dealing with a wide range of members of the public with difficult and challenging issues. Applicants are therefore expected to demonstrate personal resilience when dealing with such situations.

REF: 84/23 - Durham City Police Station (Part Time) - Scale 3 £11,584 - £12,257 per annum - 20 hours per week, working Monday to Thursday, 8am - 1pm & 1pm - 6pm (alternative weeks)
REF: 85/23 - Darlington Police Station (Part Time) - Scale 3 £9,267 - £9,806 per annum - working 16 hours per week, working Friday 8am - 12pm, Saturday & Sunday 10am - 4pm
REF: 86/23 - Peterlee Police Station (Part Time) - Scale 3 £13,901 - £14,709 per annum - 24 hours per week, working Monday - Thursday 10am - 4pm
REF: 243/22 - Consett Police Station (Part Time) - Scale 3 £11,584 - £12,257 per annum - 20 hours per week, working Monday - Friday 10am - 2pm & 1pm - 5pm (alternative weeks)

Salary: £9,267.00-£14,709.00 per year
