Flight Operations Manager

247 Aviation Ltd (247) is a Northern Ireland based aircraft operator, holding a UK CAA, Worldwide Operator’s Certificate. The company operates both Learjet 45 and Pilatus PC12 aircraft. Since its launch in October 2021, it has achieved a turnover of over £12.0m and currently employs forty people. 247 operates in several aviation segments including worldwide patient repatriation, executive charter and human organ and transplant team transportation on behalf of the NHS. This is an exciting role for a Flight Operations Manager to lead a team of operations controllers who operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, offering essential support to the NHS and 247 customers globally. The Operations Manager will provide structured leadership to motivate, mentor and train the team in a challenging and busy environment.

Belfast International Airport, Northern Ireland.
Hours
Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday and other times as required.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Flight Operations (DFO), the Flight Operations Manager is responsible for:
- The day-to-day control of the company flying program.
- Supervision and Leadership of the Operations team on duty
- The line management of the Operations Team
- Liaising with stakeholders across the business to achieve schedule efficiency and budgetary targets.
- Communicating regularly with maintenance planning ensuring all scheduled maintenance tasks and available aircraft resource for the flying program targets are met.
- Managing and monitoring risk, ensuring the safe conduct of flight.
- Mentoring and provision of initial/continuous training to all Operations team members:
- Delivering classroom or on the job training as directed by the DFO.
- Developing and delivering policy and procedures within the department.
- Oversight of daily crew roster management within limits set by the company and the UK CAA.
- The administration of Operations Control Software
- Delivering policy and procedures applicable to their experience
- Providing relevant statistical input at company meetings.
- The monitoring and promotion of standards set by the DFO.
Qualification:
- Extensive experience in flight operations.
- Experienced in assisting with system improvements and change management.
- Previous experience managing a team and teamwork roster.
- Ambition, drive and self-motivation
- Confidence in developing relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Exceptional communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Fluency in English is essential; a second language is an advantage.
- Ability to thrive working under pressure.
- A high sense of urgency
- Determination to achieve results and exceed goals.
