As a Senior Logistics Administrator specialising in imports and exports worldwide, your role would involve managing various aspects of the logistics process, ensuring efficient and timely movement of goods across international borders.
Job Summary:
As a Senior Logistics Administrator, you will be responsible for overseeing the import and export operations of goods on a global scale. Your primary focus will be on ensuring smooth and efficient logistical processes, including invoicing, purchase order placement, and stock management. Strong proficiency in Excel and other relevant software will be required to perform data analysis and support decision-making.
Responsibilities:
1. Imports and Exports Management:
- Coordinate and manage import and export processes to ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and documentation standards.
- Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to facilitate the movement of goods across international borders.
- Monitor shipment schedules, track deliveries, and resolve any logistical issues or delays.
- Maintain accurate records of import and export activities, including customs documentation, bills of lading, and shipping manifests.
- Generate and manage invoices for imports and exports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual terms.
- Review purchase orders, verify pricing and quantities, and place orders with suppliers or manufacturers.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to reconcile invoices and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain inventory control systems to track stock levels, ensuring optimal stock availability for import and export requirements.
- Conduct regular stock audits and reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to optimize storage and distribution processes, ensuring efficient movement of goods.
- Utilize Excel and other software tools to analyse import/export data, identify trends, and generate reports for management.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve logistics processes, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Create and maintain documentation, such as standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proven experience in logistics administration, preferably with a focus on imports and exports.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Proficiency in using logistics management software and tools.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and process optimization.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling documentation and financial transactions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and service providers
