Technical (Engineering) Sales & Logistics Administrator
Based in Eirth
Salary range: £22,330-£25,890 per annum
Monday to Friday
The small but growing team at Meridian are looking for a confident and experienced Sales & Logistics Administrator to join their busy team. Meridian Technical Services Ltd are a 20-year-old company specialising in the periodic pressure testing and refilling of high-pressure cylinders for the fire suppression industry. It’s a busy and friendly place to work with a mix of staff in the office, workshop technicians and drivers. Meridian is also part of a global group specialising in aviation safety and holders of Investors in People accreditation.
Joining our busy and growing office team, this role will support the existing team liaising with customers, suppliers, working with our technical teams and drivers to ensure a seamless, high-quality service throughout.
Currently with a small fleet of three vehicles covering the UK, this role will be overseeing the administrative support from checking licences, booking in vehicle maintenance, and planning our country wide collection and delivery service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide quotations to customers, follow up leads and gather accurate technical information to pass onto the Operations team.
- Convert quotations to sales orders and prepare job packs for the workshop supervisors to inspect.
- Be the first point of contact for customer enquiries in whichever form they appear.
- Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of the Company-relevant sections of the Fire suppression industry as well as products and services offered at Meridian.
- Apply for government import and export licenses for the transport of controlled materials.
- Carry out office operations and procedures to ensure complete customer satisfaction wherever possible.
- Organise and schedule the efficient use of the company vehicle fleet and external providers for deliveries and collections around the world.
- Ensure filing systems are maintained and are up to date including scanning files and updating electronic records.
- Ensure compliance with all policies for record keeping and statutory regulations
- Ensure the protection and security of files and records.
- Make use of office systems and processes, offering suggestions on efficiency savings and best practices.
- Maintain and replenish office inventory.
- Anticipate needed supplies.
- Collaborate with Technical Sales & Administration Supervisor and/or General Manager and/or Operations Manager to schedule Meridian fleet of vehicles delivery and collection schedules efficiently.
- Collect and record transport data including vehicle mileage records, routine service and repair schedules.
- Coordinating all vehicle maintenance requirements including instructing external suppliers (tyres, windscreen etc)
- Complete 6 monthly licence checks for all staff members driving company vehicles.
- Communicate loading requirements to workshops according to next day delivery schedule.
