Job Description
The role of Flats Packing Operator is to independently run and maintain the Flats Packing operation ensuring maximum output in line with strict quality guidelines. It is the role of the Flats Packing Operator to work closely with the planning team to ensure priority call offs are met.
Specific Responsibilities
- Monitor the quality of orders you are packing, ensuring all work meets the required standards expected.
- Sort product into good/bad which has been quarantined in any production workshop. This includes sorting as you are packing.
- Follow all procedures, including SOP's and quarantine procedures, to ensure compliance is consistent throughout
- Complete all necessary paperwork regarding the effective packing of orders being packed. Ensuring all Health and Safety duties are understood and followed.
- Operate a PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle) safely and appropriately. To operate the PECAS system effectively and following a production plan.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in all areas you are working in.
- Cover for absence in different departments as requested by the Coordinator/Manager.

Skills and Qualifications
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in a similar role, or an understanding of what is involved
- Knowledge of machinery and of the terms/language used in manufacturing
- Good standard of education required
- Must be able to work on own initiative
- High level of concentration and attention to detail
