An exciting opportunity has arisen within Rolls-Royce Engine Overhaul services to join the team as a Fitter.

Our Engine Overhaul Services facility in Derby is the only wholly owned large civil engine overhaul base in the network. We maintain and overhaul up to 40 different customers engines across multiple different engine types including but not limited to Trent 1000, 7000, Trent 1000- TEN, Trent 97 and 84.

As a Fitter , you will be part of an established team accountable for all aspects of equipment, implementing improvement initiatives and driving KPI’s to ensure maximum delivery in your cell. Naturally, it is crucial you work safely and there is an expectation to actively support team adherence to Health and Safety requirements, our corporate standards and driving a Zero harm culture in the company.

Ideally you will understand engineering drawings and have a flexible and adaptable approach in order to meet the ever-changing business requirements.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. What you will be doing:

You will Interface with Operations and Manufacturing Engineering (LSE) to deliver a professional engineering service. You will also:

  • Liaise with onsite integrator to ensure inventory reflects operational demands with minimal impact to business
  • Maintain correct competencies and 5s standards to assigned cell.
  • Advocate Health & Safety compliance
  • Support the effective induction of new team members and support cross-training of other team members.

  • Applicants will be time served and have completed an engineering modern advanced apprenticeship with a minimum of City & Guilds Level 3, National Vocational Qualification (NVQ)/Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 or equivalent. To support your application please attach a copy of your certificate as proof of completing a recognised apprenticeship together with your CV.
  • Ability to understand basic reports and interpretation of service manual
  • Good inter-personal skills and the ability to work as a team,
  • Self-confident, works on own initiative, independently and possess good IT skills.
