Job description
We have a couple of vacancies in our Award winning shop in Winterton just North of Scunthorpe due to an increase in turnover. We therefore urgently require enthusiastic, reliable, well-presented, hardworking staff with experience of working within the catering / takeaway industry to become part of our friendly team and to help us to grow and maintain our high standards of food hygiene and customer service. Experience is essential as you will need to slot into the team with minimum training. Key responsibilities:
- Setting up the shop for opening i.e. making sauces and preparing service station
- Counter service including taking orders, prepping orders for the fryer, handling and operating the till.
- Preparing delivery orders to give to drivers
- Ensuring that your work station and surrounding areas of the shop are always kept neat, tidy and clean.
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and adhering to Health and Safety Acts.
- Restocking of the drinks' fridge and packing / wrapping materials
- Checking that condiments, bread rolls, salads, sauces, salt and vinegar etc are always topped up and ready to be served.
- Making up the sauces such as gravy, curry sauce etc.
- Taking telephone orders from customers
- Assisting with stock control to include taking note of stock levels, putting stock away and stock rotation
- Thorough cleaning of the shop and equipment throughout the shift
- Any other reasonable duties as requested by your manager

Experience in a busy fish and chip shop or similar environment is essential. Pay rate: National Minimum Wage with potential for increased pay, depending on performance up to a maximum of £12.50 per hour.
Part time shifts available between 11.00am to 1.30/2.00pm and 4.00pm to 8.00/9.00pm over five days (Tuesdays - Saturdays). Longer shifts are possible if willing to take on shop preparation before and after opening hours.
