Great Bear is a leading 3rd party logistics business providing a wide range of ambient warehousing services, shared-user and dedicated transport solutions to a wide variety of customers alongside offering a flexible mix of added-value services to simplify supply chain. We operate over 7 million sq.ft. of warehousing space across 30+ locations in the UK. Our distribution network spans all corners of the country.
Our Rugby site are now recruiting for a First Line Manager on a full time basis.
Salary: £36,300 per annum
Working hours: 4 on 4 18:00 - 6:00
The purpose of a First Line Manager is assist in overseeing operations ensuring service levels are achieved safely and efficiently, you will be a vital link to ensuring customer requirements are achieved consistently. You will be an ambassador for our core values and will lead a well engaged and motivated team.
Key Duties of a First Line Manager:
- Act as a key point of contact in communication with the administration, stock and management teams to resolve problems or issues that have been identified within the warehouse
- Prepare and complete shift handover documents fully and distribute data captured on tracking documents for the next shift
- Performance management of operatives using autostore and warehouse management system tools and creating corrective plans to improve individuals
- Create training plans with the support team to ensure you have the relevant skills mix on your shift to align to the capability planning tool
- Ensure all compliance requirements are met with regards to key control, key logs, radio logs, scanner logs, MHE pre op check sheet
- Ensure that the maintenance programme schedule meets equipment and audit guidelines
- You will be responsible for the completion of all Safe and Legal and make sure that they are signed off with a monthly WM check
- You will drive towards delivering a multi skilled team that can cross over to any department on site
- You will manage your team and ensure compliance to people process and policy
- Responsible for the talent management and development of your team
- Proven experience at Senior WH Operative level/ First Line Manager
- An Understanding of operational management and people management
- The ability to recognise and rewards the contributions of others
- A Clear and effective communicator
- Confident in setting appropriate standards of behaviour
- The ability to delegates work appropriately and fairly
- Focused on customer needs and satisfaction
- A demonstrable high standards for quality and quantity
