Job title: Firing Officer

Salary: Competitive - depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Conducting internal proof activities in line with SOP’s
- Issuing and compiling proof reports
- Sentencing proof results in line with product specifications
- Help maintain current proof facilities and instrumentation
- Attendance to external firing ranges to support external proof activities undertaken by sub-contractors
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
- Experience / competence of MS Office Products
- Willingness to undertake courses and learn new skills, including Firing Officer training
- Willingness to work away from site, when required
- Ability to write and present data and report findings
Desirable
- An understanding of energetic material and munitions
- Analytical experience
- A technical/engineering background

The Firing Officer team:
Reporting into the X-ray & Proof Manager, you will ensure that all site health & safety procedures are adhered to, when carrying out proof activities, which will involve live firings of various stores and evaluation of results. You may also have to represent BAE Systems when working at external ranges.
