CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Fire and Security Technician to join the team located in Cambridge where they will be working alongside one of our major Global Life Science Client’s AstraZeneca.
Role Purpose:
To assist in providing a comprehensive and experienced Technical Solution for Fire & Security across the client’s campus. The role will involve the Maintaining, Servicing, Testing, and Repairing of all Fire & Security Systems and Devices on site, to the established procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring all Campus Fire & Security Systems/Devices are Fully Operational and Tested in line with the Cause & Effect Strategy, Ensuring Compliance by adhering to the Clients, and Current British Standards.
- Provide Technical Support and Deliver Planned, and Responsive Maintenance to all Fire and Security Systems and equipment. This includes different types of Automatic Detection, Fire Suppression, EVCS, PAVA, Controlled Access, and Surveillance Systems, covering Offices, Laboratories, Kitchens, Restaurants, Plant Rooms, Switch Rooms, Data Hubs, and Loading Bays, across several different buildings.
- Lead or Support with Root Cause Analysis Investigations for Process, System, or Equipment failings.
- Support the Site Fire & Security Engineer and/or Security Team with Incident Investigations.
- Provide Support to Projects with Commissioning Activities.
- Provide Technical Support and Deliver Planned & Responsive Maintenance to all Ancillary Mechanical/Electrical Equipment connected to the Fire & Security Systems.
- To be part of an Out of Hours, Technical Support Team providing support by way of phone and/or site visit within an assigned rota.
- Provide Technical Advice/Knowledge, with Guidance or Training, to other staff or customers on Fire & Security Systems and Procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of client’s Engineering Guides for all Campus Buildings. Maintain, update and review Fire Safety and Life Safety System Logbooks.
Accountabilities
- Directly Accountable to the Systems Manager, however a dotted line reporting to the other site Management Team exists with Daily Operations guided by the Fire & Security Engineer.
- This Post has no Direct Reports.
- This post carries no Direct Budgetary Responsibility, but Financial Awareness is required.
Requirements:
Education
A good basic education is essential, with good Written and Spoken English and basic Mathematical skills.
A Formal Electrical Qualification.
Experience
Previous experience of Installing and Maintaining Fire & Security Systems for a BAFE, FIA, SSAIB or NSI Accredited Company.
Understanding of British Standards: BS:5839, BS:6266, BS:12845,BS:15004.
Experience
- Good working knowledge and understanding of Honeywell’s GENT, Vigilon Fire Alarm Systems + EBI
- DVM platforms. CCTV Hardware, Access Control Systems
- Smoke Extract Systems
- Electrical/Electronic Engineering Background
- PASMA & IPAF card.
