Job description

We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Fire Safety Manager to help lead the Fire Safety Team at Cambridge University Hospitals.

You will be responsible for the delivery of Fire Safety Management services across the estate, including offsite properties.

Providing management support to a team that provides specialist fire safety advice in relation to the maintenance and repair of all building fabric, utilities and engineering services, across the Trust, using the best possible business and working practices.

Ensuring a good working relationship with departmental managers will be essential to the achievement of the Fire Safety Team’s objectives. The post-holder will be expected to show a thoroughly professional attitude in all their relationships.

  • Developing and delivering a strategic compliance road map and plans towards full Fire Safety compliance.
  • Ensuring all appropriate policies and procedures are developed and regularly updated.
  • Delivery of the Risk Based Inspection Programme, Building and Engineering advice, corporate and specialist training and issue
  • Delivery of fire safety training of all staff at the Trust and associated satellites by constantly devising and improving training and evacuation methods commensurate to particular
  • Ensuring the Fire Safety team is kept up-to-date with any changes in legislation and guidance appertaining to Fire Safety and represents the Fire Safety team within the Estates and Facilities Directorate, and within the wider Trust.
  • Providing informed advice to the Trust on its development across its Estate with the Trust Fire The post holder will form part of a multi-disciplinary team whose role is to provide the best possible Fire Prevention Service to the Trust.
