Job Description

Ensure through technical expertise and experience the integrity and performance of safety and fulfilment of duty of principal risk/stakeholders.
  • Deliver advice and guidance to meet its legal, moral and financial duties to both employees and Residents in terms of Fire Safety matters and fire risk reduction.
  • Responsible for the ensuring the measuring and evaluation of adherence by duty holders to the Fire Safety Framework Components and organisation compliance and developing actions for duty holders. Building relationships and communication channels to effectively ensure "Duty Holder / Accountable Person" prescribed in law maintain compliance against all statutory requirements to protect the Housing Association and its residents.
  • Liaison with Enforcers to deliver the best outcomes for Housing Association in potential enforcement actions post inspection, fire investigation or audit.
  • Acting as Witness and provide evidence as required to verify or justify Clarions actions in Crown, Magistrates or Coroners Court in relation to Clarions actions or mitigation.
  • Responsible for programs of inspection delivery and undertaking routine monitoring and review of existing Clarion systems for Fire Safety of Residents and all other Relevant Persons
  • Undertaking Qualitative and Quantitative Audits and evaluations of Fire Risk in Property, Housing and Business areas to ensure conformance and compliance and standards of performance.
  • Develop and liaise with Senior Duty Holders proportionate consistent fire risk reduction strategies. (Head of Building Safety, Fire Program Managers etc) to ensure fulfilment of first line duty holders and implementation of appropriate actions to mitigate fire risk in Clarion properties.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate:

  • NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate or equivalent qualification minimum
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of legislation surrounding Fire and Safety in Specialised Housing and Social Housing Environment including HRRBs
  • Working towards/Willing to European Diploma in Fire Safety or equivalent qualification or commensurate experience.
  • IFE Membership working towards Graduate Level
  • Solid understanding of Fire Safety and application in social housing, building construction and/or repairs and maintenance environments.
  • Sound understanding of housing construction, building pathology and how fire systems work in assets.
  • Strong working understanding
