About the Role
The role of a Firefighter is a career, not simply a job.
At Cardiff Airport, we are offering the exciting opportunity for people to join us and build a career as a qualified Firefighter. We would also welcome qualified Firefighters to apply and to bring their skills, knowledge and experience to our Fire & Rescue Service.
As a Firefighter at Cardiff Airport or St Athan, you would join one of watches and be part of an incredible supportive team where no day is the same. You will learn a wide range of skills, operate and maintain vehicles and equipment and deliver training, in addition to dealing with aircraft related emergencies and a variety of special service calls.
You would be expected take a proactive role and contribute to the airports organisational aims, goals and objectives.
Throughout your career, you will have many opportunities to shape your future, potentially progressing up the career ladder, or you may wish to specialise in a specific area with the opportunity to gain professional qualifications throughout your career.
About You
The successful candidates will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a self-disciplined and self-motivational approach.
The role also requires knowledge of the National Occupational Standards of the Firefighter role map and the physical capabilities required for the role as outlined in the Candidate Briefing Pack.
