SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Fire Alarm Inspector who is eager to grow within the organization. This individual needs to possess clear communication and the ability to think quickly on their feet while using hardware and hand tools as needed. The Fire Alarm Inspector assists with fire systems hardware installations, performing all fire testing activities as assigned according to the prescribed guidelines. The Fire Alarm Inspector also performing basic system repairs and maintains equipment which includes troubleshooting the equipment and advising customer on how to use the equipment while following First Alarm’s procedures.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Conduct fire tests according to the prescribed process and complete fire test forms as required
- Report and performance tracking as designated by management processes
- Prepare accurate and timely service-call tickets for submission to service/operations management
- Maintain company vehicle and organize truck stock parts and tools
- Knowledge and understanding of the electrical requirements, alarm initiating devices, control functions, alarm indicating appliances and the power requirements of a fire alarm system
- Understand operations and use of manual fire alarm boxes, automatic fire detectors, audible and visual signaling appliances, enunciators and other basic components of a Fire Alarm system
- Two (2) + years of experience with fire security alarm systems
- May participate in designing large integrated network-based systems
- Works independently, may lead small installation teams
- Steady hands to hold and maneuver hardware and tools
- Professional appearance with clear communication/listening skills
- Ability to communicate with internal staff on customer installs and/or issues
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a clean DMV record and be over the age of 21 to drive our vehicles
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Must have excellent written/verbal communication, organizational, and listening skills
- Detail-oriented/multi-tasker
- Must be able to maintain a calm, professional demeanor while working at customer sites and speaking with difficult customers
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Passionate about implementing changes to a growing company
- California Fire/Life Safety a plus
- NICET Certification a plus
- Notifier, Honeywell, DMP, Radionics hardware a plus
- On-call (evenings and weekends) and swing shifts may be required from time to time
Candidates must be able to pass a stringent background check, inclusive of drug testing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods sitting in vehicle and/or standing at customer sites
- Must be able to lift up to 15-25 pounds at a time
- Use hands to handle, push, pull equipment
- Ability to stand, twist, walk, grasp and reach for extended periods of time
- Regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to work on a ladder up to 30 feet.
- Able to travel as needed
