Job Description
Who we are:
Lloyds Bank Corporate & Institutional Coverage (CIC) is an origination and coverage business operating across the UK and North America.
We serve the financial needs of clients with a turnover of £100m and above, and are making additional investment in Infrastructure, Housing, Manufacturing, Higher Education, Sponsors and Banks to improve our clients’ digital servicing experience and broaden our client product offering. We also continue to create new, innovative client offerings to grow our business in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) advisory and supporting regional development.
The business leads with a sector and relationship focus, whilst maintaining regional delivery through a variety of hubs across the UK.
What you’ll do:
You’ll work within our CIC team where your will support a Relationship Director and wider team to develop Lloyds Banking Groups business with clients within the CIC portfolio to build stronger, deeper and more sustainable partner relationships. This will be achieved by building trusted partner relationships with clients through sector / industry expertise and gaining an understanding of client businesses.
As part of this role, you’ll…
  • Lead on and be responsible for the delivery of first class customer service and act as a first point of contact for clients and support teams. Act as a point of escalation for clients
  • Provide support in harnessing complex, high profile and potentially profitable relationships to best meet client needs and develop the LBG franchise across Coverage, Product and Delivery areas
  • Embrace and lead change, quickly adopt tools designed to improve the client and colleague experience and support the wider team to achieve their objectives
  • Work alongside an Associate Director and act as first point of contact to propose / understand / validate client needs and solutions. Ensuring appropriate LBG engagement with clients – product, service, delivery
  • Act as day to day contact for customer service and operational support outside of Delivery / Customer Service Team scope. Drive onboarding / offboarding (or migration to other Coverage teams) of clients (client dialogue and internal governance)
  • Ensure the ongoing and proactive monitoring of client performance and present to relevant governance bodies as needed. Be central to all credit stewardship activities and support with the proactive team management of all conduct, compliance and operational risks
  • Act as subject matter expert for team on the key internal and client systems / processes that enhance customer service and delivery. Be proactive in looking for improvements and embrace / leads change to maximise client and colleague experience
  • Proactively manage self-development. Supporting the implementation of the team's formal development framework and actively pursuing opportunities for personal development
  • Support portfolio development and origination through researching clients, prospects and industry trends to find opportunities for the team
  • Forge collaborative and long-lasting relationships with credit and service delivery teams to deliver a collegiate approach for clients whilst balancing Bank requirements.
About the programme:
Starting in September 2023, we’ll support your study towards a Level 6 – Financial Services Professional apprenticeship. This apprenticeship programme will last for 36 months, during which time you'll gain a degree level qualification - the Chartered Banker Advanced Diploma in Banking and Leadership in a digital age.
Whilst on the Apprenticeship scheme 20% of your time will be dedicated to ‘mandatory apprenticeship hours’, which can include attending workshops, shadowing, reading, completing assignments etc. This means 80% of your role is applying your learning in the workplace, in a safe environment.
You'll also gain an experience across a number of different areas including, Coverage, Products and Risk, which will enable you to discover how different business areas operate and function across our organisation to strengthen your development for the future.
Please note – you’ll be based in the location listed on this vacancy and will be expected to be ‘on-site’ in the office as and when required by the business. Additional travel may also be required as part of this role.
What you’ll have:
We expect you to be motivated, ambitious and committed to your own development. In particular, you’ll be keen to get to grips with financial systems and processes.
The minimum qualifications required are:
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs Grades 4 - 9 or equivalent (including Maths and English) AND
  • At least one A-Level or equivalent by September 2023
Please note - these can include predicted grades.
