Job Description
What you’ll do:
You’ll work within the Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (AMC), a market leader in the provision of medium and long term secured lending to the farming industry in Great Britain. It aims to be the first choice for farm and rural finance on the basis of competitive terms and quality of service.
This is a challenging and diverse role in which you will be responsible for your own case management. You will liaise with customers, solicitors, Land Agents and SME Credit providing guidance within a pressurised department which has to meet client and business deadlines for drawdown of a mortgage, or a change to a customer’s security property/mortgage, and it is therefore important that you can build strong business relationships and remain calm throughout.
Right from the beginning, we’ll give you full training and all the support you need with one-on-one training. During this time you’ll get all the coaching and development you need to achieve your competency and we will help you to obtain a full understanding of our operational policies and procedures plus give you an awareness of regulatory requirements, so you don’t necessarily need previous experience of finance or banking, however some knowledge and experience in an administrative and telephone based role may be beneficial.
About the programme:
Starting in September 2023, we’ll support your study towards a Level 6 – Financial Services Professional apprenticeship. This apprenticeship programme will last for 36 months, during which time you'll gain a degree level qualification - the Chartered Banker Advanced Diploma in Banking and Leadership in a digital age.
Whilst on the Apprenticeship scheme 20% of your time will be dedicated to ‘mandatory apprenticeship hours’, which can include attending workshops, shadowing, reading, completing assignments etc. This means 80% of your role is applying your learning in the workplace, in a safe environment.
This apprenticeship will provide fulfilling career opportunities for curious and solution-focused individuals. You'll also gain a broad experience of the business, which will provide a strong foundation for your career in banking.
What you’ll learn:
As part of this role, you’ll learn to…
Discuss new lending enquiries with existing and new clients
Support the drafting and issuance of legal documentation
Build an understanding of loan structure, terms and securities
Manage and lead on your own pieces of work
Build effective relationships with customers and colleagues
Engage and influence senior stakeholders
