We are looking for an experienced finance leader to be responsible for the financial reporting team of our Lloyd’s of London operations, including our two managed Syndicates and associated Non-Insurance entities.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Responsible for the AXUAL finance function operating through direct and indirect (Group) resources of Finance.
- Attendee of the AXUAL Executive Committee, which is responsible for the implementation of the strategy for AXUAL and the AXUAL Risk Management Committee overseeing the risk framework applicable to AXUAL
- Ensure that the AXUAL finance function is sufficiently resourced and that appropriate control framework and governance is maintained through policies, procedures and training
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including the Lloyd’s Principles of Doing Business.
- Oversee production of Board and Management MI related to AXUAL syndicates alongside external reporting requirements, for example: Syndicate Report and Accounts, and Lloyd’s Regulatory Returns.
- Interaction and coordination with Group Business Partnering and Financial Operations functions to meet reporting deliverables and support management in assessing the overall performance of the syndicates
- Manage the production, review, and sign off Lloyd’s quarterly and annual regulatory returns, including the production of the Syndicate accounts.
- Manage the production and reporting of two Syndicates and associated corporate members and managing agent to Group Finance and preparation of regulatory and statutory reporting accounts for the same.
- Assist in the quarterly close process and the production of Regional reporting data for Lloyd’s entities.
- Lead on the management of the overall capital and liquidity position of the syndicates.
- Manage, coach and develop the syndicate reporting team.
- Be the key point of contact for technical queries with regards to syndicate financial reporting.
- Work closely with the management in developing and enhancing the syndicate financial control framework.
- Drive the development and implementation of processes to create reporting efficiencies and facilitate the production of accurate financial information.
- Work closely with stakeholders in reserving, capital modelling and Group finance functions to improve the quality of information reported both internally within the group and externally to Lloyd’s
- Act as a point of contact for the syndicate auditors.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including Lloyd’s Principles of Doing Business
- Production of internal Board and Management MI related to Lloyd’s syndicates.
- Interaction and coordination with business partnering and FinOps to meet reporting deliverables and support management in assessing the overall performance of the syndicates.
- Balance sheet control and reporting oversight for all reporting processes.
- Interaction with Treasury finance function to manage liquidity and capital requirements.
- Identify areas within remit for possible offshoring of work and automation.
- Syndicate and Subsidiary Accounting
- Management of the financial accounting for the AXUAL syndicates and associated entities. Review processes to ensure the data structure and integrity within the general ledger are maintained.
- Monitoring of core controls such as balance sheet reconciliations across Financial Control and Shared Services to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial information.
- Management of Local and AXA XL External Audit Processes as they relate to Lloyd’s operations.
- Financial Reporting
- Responsible for leading the team that oversees the accurate and timely production of the regulatory reports and all syndicate financial returns to Lloyd’s for all managed syndicates.
- Oversee and maintain the regulatory reporting timetables, ensuring local operations requirements are effectively integrated with the group reporting processes.
- Maintenance of an effective control environment to ensure accuracy and integrity of the trial balances for all UK entities
- Review analysis of movements / variances in the quarterly regulatory financial results.
- Review of annual reports, interim statements and board and audit committee updates.
- Review of audit files and supportive workings for interim and full year statutory audit reviews provided to the External and Internal Auditors. Manage queries from both internal and external stakeholders.
- Regulatory Reporting
- Responsible for leading the team that oversees the accurate and timely production of the regulatory results of all financial returns to Lloyd’s for all managed syndicates.
- Maximize the efficiency of reviewing statutory and regulatory returns and ensure the results to be reported are accurate by developing robust controls.
- Support the local Tax Manager by providing the necessary information for tax compliance activities.
- Review analysis of movements / variances in the quarterly regulatory financial results.
