Are you experienced in Financial Planning & Analysis and looking for a new challenge with a FTSE listed company? This role is for an experienced FP&A Analyst to support the FP&A Lead in providing robust financial management information to support the Property Business Unit.
This role provides primary support for the planning, budgeting and processes of the Royal Mail Property Business Unit, which has a cost base of c.£425m and c.2.5k employees.

About the role
Budgets & Plans - You will support the delivery of the annual budget process for the Property Business Unit - e.g. through co-ordination of planning timelines and engagement with key stakeholders. Lead on collation of planning and forecast data, develop appropriate models and key outputs such as bridges/variance analysis. Working closely with functional FP&A Lead to ensure assumptions are applied consistently while proactively identifying opportunities to simplify and standardise processes.
Financial Performance -Support on month end close processes (ie: journals, flash results production, month end analysis). Review monthly functional financial results, identify issues and liaise with Property Finance Business Partners to understand and resolve them. Perform monthly analysis of key financial variances and deliver proactive, robust, accurate analysis and insight e.g. on key trends.
In addition to the above you will also support with the proactive design and development of ad hoc analysis outputs as required, support drives in the development of models/outputs which provide management insight and input in adhoc projects in support of broader group and team objectives. On occasion management of the accruals process for utilities expenditure, c.£80m p.a.
About You
What you'll need to succeed in this role
- Previous experience working in finance and/or accounting and with professional accounting qualifications , part qualifies or working towards (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Strong systems and data skills (SAP, QlikView/Tableau or equivalent, Advanced Excel, Advanced PowerPoint, Think Cell)
- Experience of building financial models
- Effective organisational skills
