West Yorkshire Police is looking to appoint Financial Investigator to work with the Regional Economic Crime Unit based at Wakefield. A number of full-time posts are available.
These exciting opportunities have arisen as part of an expansion within the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Economic Crime Unit, we are looking for financial investigators to work across the Confiscation, Money Laundering and Proactive Economic Crime Teams. The successful applicant will play a vital part in recovering the proceeds of crime under Part2 and Part 5 of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
You'll be working closely with police and partner agencies, disrupting financially based criminal activity across the Yorkshire and Humber region, confiscating assets in civil and criminal proceedings, advising on all matters relating to the operation of the 2002 Act.
Based at Wakefield with home working available there will an expectation for occasional travel throughout the region. Whilst applicants would preferably be already established and Accredited Financial Investigators, applications will also be considered from those with a background in investigation and who can demonstrate familiarity working within a financial background.
Individuals will normally be appointed to the bottom scale point, of the appropriate grade, within the Career Progression Scheme based on the role entry requirements. However, appointment can be made to a higher scale point if qualifications, skills and experience are commensurate with a higher point, this is subject to appropriate approval. Remuneration ranges from Scale 5 to SO2 dependent on experience.
For those applicants who are Advanced Financial Investigators with the required experience, a Market Factor supplement of £9,000 is payable. This market factor payment is temporary and subject to an annual review.
