JOB TITLE: Financial Investigator
SALARY: £41,000-£45,000
LOCATION: Birmingham
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least
two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
Our purpose is to continue to keep the bank and our customers safe from the impacts of financial crime.
About this opportunity
These roles are for Financial Crime investigators who have primary investigative responsibility within the team, undertaking both reactive and proactive case investigations. Investigators will also support the operation of the team’s ‘threat desks’ and lead the tactical and strategic economic crime investigations into customers' accounts that help us mitigate risk and understand these threats.
You will report to the threat desk lead who is responsible for the overall strategy of the desk and maintaining the assessment narrative. The job of the threat desks is to understand and assess economic crime threats to the Group and our customers.
As a financial crime investigator, a typical day could involve;
- Lead and manage tactical economic crime investigations of a complex nature.
- Use knowledge and understanding of intelligence practices to understand and mitigate economic crime threats to the Group.
- Carry out network analysis to identify the full extent of criminality operating accounts in the Group.
- Work with senior colleagues to support economic crime threat desks to build and maintain the Group's understanding of economic crime threats and their trajectories.
- Input into, and sometimes write, tactical intelligence reports that inform business decisions and communicate assessments on economic crime threats.
- Contribute to development of intelligence products and stakeholder relationships for law enforcement public private partnerships.
