Job Summary
Orion180 is looking for a BI Analyst who will develop and deliver timely, accurate, and useful reporting to support both existing and new carrier partners, reinsurers, states, and products. The successful candidate will analyze and communicate data driven results for key products, markets, and initiatives. You will develop compelling storylines to help deepen insights and make recommendations for creative actions and guide strategies in operations. Additionally, this role formulates financial projections to support predicting and tracking performance and diagnosing potential issues.
Role and Responsibilities

The requirements listed below are representative of the fundamental knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the job successfully:
Manage all aspects of the reporting including monthly premium, policy counts and insured value, claims, and business results.- Support state regulatory reporting needs.
- Develop and implement reporting for Orion180 programs including new products and expansion into new states.
- Reconcile all reports to the general ledger on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
- Isolate key drivers, quantify impacts, and forecast implications to the business recognizing how different data points fit together.
- Continuously develop and improve analytical processes to increase automation and improve accuracy.
- Demonstrate ability to utilize resources and produce results to solve problems or issues with minimal support.
- Provide accurate, timely reports with financial insight to allow business partners to improve performance.
- Develop and lead effective presentations for small groups.
- Drive conversations with leadership to understand the business implications of current trends.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Education: Minimum two or more years of accounting, finance, and insurance-related experience.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and visualize complex datasets.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, and statistical software (e.g., R, Python). Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is desirable.
- Reporting and Presentation Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
- Business Acumen: Understanding of business operations, key performance indicators, and financial metrics.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
While performing general office duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and/or walk around (including the use of stairs). Other demands include the ability to openly communicate with others by talking, listening, and reading, able to lift light objects (<25lbs), and use standard office equipment such as computer, printer, and phone. In addition, there is an occasional need to bend, twist or stoop to open/close cabinets, reach for files or other standard office type objects.
Work Environment
The office environment is generally quiet and, in a temperature, controlled setting with random adjustments in noise or temperature due conversations, unscheduled maintenance repairs to the building or its interior offices or unpredictable situations due to weather or other acts beyond company control. An employee must be willing to work their regularly assigned work schedule for their duties and/or job responsibilities and in times of need, be able to work an extended schedule depending on company/department needs, project requirements or customer demands.
