We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join the BBC Children in Need Operational Finance team, for this permanent role based in Salford.

Main ResponsibilitiesAs Financial Controller you will take a key role leading on operational finance in a charity context. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the accounting processes, delivering robust, relevant and insightful commentary on financial performance reporting and preparing the Trustee Report and Accounts. You will maintain strong and effective financial controls and ensure the finance team is delivering these outputs as an effective service into the organisation.
You will provide strong organisational and leadership skills, building effective working relationships across the charity and the line management of a team to gather and assimilate information, challenge numbers and support financial management of the organisation.
Are you the right candidate?To be successful in this role you will need:
- Professional accounting qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience of supporting the delivery of effective financial systems and controls.
- Experience of working with financial accounting systems and the ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex financial data to a range of audiences.
- Experience of managing a team
- A good understanding of financial controls and complex accounting theory and practice

Package Description
Band: E Salary £54,400 to £71,000
Contract type: Permanent
Location: Salford based role with some flexibility ie hybrid working
