THE ROLE
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing, developing and overseeing the financial accounting operations, ensuring quality control, driving transformation and identifying efficiencies and the development of internal control policies procedures.
The role is responsible overseeing the revenue accounting, billing and cash collection and managing the performance of the outsourced finance activities. The position will work closely with IAG Global Business Services, British Airways, Iberia and Aer Lingus finance departments to ensure timely and accurate information is exchanged between the entities.
Responsible for IAG Cargo statutory accounts, Zenda Group Ltd, & compliance with all local tax IFRS & UK GAAP requirements. Ensuring IAG Cargo Ltd and its subsidiaries meets country specific tax reporting deadlines in conjunction with IAG Group Service Providers.
Ownership of the underlying financial systems and data. Supported by a team of 17, under 2 direct reports.
DUTIES
- Overseeing and preparing the combined company’s monthly, quarterly and annual accounts.
- Manage all accounting operations both insourced and outsourced functions, including billing, revenue accounting, debt management, payroll, payables and maintaining a robust general ledger. Maintain all financial systems.
- Promote change & transformation – identify opportunities for improvement in accounting operations, financial systems and processes via automation, standardization or through in/out sourcing and manage the implementation.
- Perform process optimisation to ensure a greater business efficiency, by analyzing the company’s processes and redesigning them in order to improve them
- Supervise the preparation of monthly and statutory accounting for IAG Cargo Limited and Zenda Group Limited. Responsibility for the management fee and tax compliance requirements of IAGCL.
- Effective financial planning and analysis - responsible for the preparation and tracking of Business and Financial plans of IAG Cargo Limited (legal entity) and Zenda Group Limited.
- Protect the assets of the company - oversee all company ledger accounts, investments and manage cash flow. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Ensure compliance - adhere to all corporate, statutory and regulatory requirements including Group Standing Instructions, Group Financial Standing Instructions and International Accounting Standards
- Manage the development of your team – ensure continuous improvement and realisation of full potential
- Relationships - actively build and maintain strong relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues at all levels across IAG Cargo, British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Level, GBS.

Qualifications
- Education to Degree level or equivalent experience
- Professional finance qualification such as ACCA/ACA/ CIMA or equivalent experience
Experience
Essential Experience
- Experience in ‘big four’ accounting firm
- Significant experience in accounting and tax matters
- Senior stakeholder management, including presenting to board level
- People management of a wide team
- Project management
- Business partnering at a senior level (departmental head or director level)
