The Vacancy:

We are offering opportunities for successful candidates to work from home as a Recovery Officer within our Revenues Team based in Swindon. The successful candidates will help support and be responsible for financial reporting and reconciliations relating to Council Tax, Business Rates and Housing benefits, including the processing of payment runs, across multiple systems (including NEC, Academy, Information@Work & Civica). Full and comprehensive training will be provided and successful candidates will be supported by a network of employees within the Revenues Team based in Swindon.

The main objective for this position will include the reconciliation of the Revenues & Benefits system and production of financial reports and reconciliations, direct debit payment files and supporting our customers to find solutions to difficult issues. You will be expected to manage challenging situations to conclusion, taking full ownership of the outcome and embracing first contact resolution as a standard approach.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Reconciliation of Revenues & Benefits system.
  • Producing weekly & monthly statistics.
  • Processing of direct debits including amendments, recalls etc
  • Responding to customer queries by email, phone and letter
  • Processing of payment runs.
  • Timely and accurate action of client requests;
  • To support operational service delivery to clients;
  • Comply with corporate HR and Health & Safety policies and procedures;
  • Support\mentor colleagues with their development;

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Previous administration, account management experience;
  • Evidence of delivering a first class service to a diverse range of customers from initial point of contact;
  • Experience of gathering, organising and managing information;
  • Being responsive, customer-focused and committed to customer care;
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach to working patterns to meet business peaks and troughs;
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with minimum of 5 grades of A-C /9-4, including English and Maths;
