Financial Analyst - London Seeking Financial Analyst for a 9 month that has become available within a consumer retail business based in Central London. The role will involve the preparation of European (e.g. German) VAT returns, Intrastat (statistical reporting), ECSL lists, Invoice analysis, VAT return filing while Analysing data and the role will involve excel heavily so will need the person to a strong user of excel. Responsibilities: Working within the current EMEA VAT Compliance team, the VAT Tax Analyst will: Prepare, analyze and submit European VAT returns (e.g. German VAT returns) and related filings; Prepare, analyze and submit Intrastat returns; Prepare and review month-end VAT account reconciliations; Assist in the mapping of VAT processes, and identify areas for improvement and solutions for VAT issues; Prepare and review month-end VAT account reconciliations; Provide internal and external audit support, including data analysis; Provide VAT compliance support to colleagues throughout the business and, in particular, accounting groups; Participate in cross-functional projects. P&L, balance sheet and VAT reconciliations Ad hoc projects Interaction with wider compliance team and VAT advisory team Expected is to deliver the daily VAT compliance work within the deadlines, file VAT returns & other related obligations before due date Ideal Background: Strong accounting/reconciliation skills Strong excel skills - pivot, vlookup 3-5 years of experience in VAT Experience of working in large complex organisation To be considered for the role, candidates must be available to start the role immediately.
