CAHSS / Finance Directorate
Open Ended Contract - Permanent: Full Time - 35 Hours per Week
We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst with strong Excel and financial modelling skills, as well as some understanding of preparing financial analysis. The role supports the CAHSS College Office finance business partner and senior leaders across the organisation, ensuring financial information is accurate and prepared on a timely basis.
The Opportunity:
In this role, you will be supporting a key area of our business by:
- Analysing the student numbers within CAHSS, the corresponding fees received and how these are represented in the financial system (both for Planning and monthly reconciliations)
- Building financial consolidation models to support the wider FBP team and Head of CAHSS Finance
- Focussing on Research and other Restricted income to understand the restrictions on spending; ensuring the supporting records are held complete and accurate
- Conducting ad hoc analysis to support the FBP and the wider CAHSS FBP team
- Checking and reconciling financial data to ensure it is accurate and processed according to University policy and procedures.
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationship with key stakeholders to assist with preparing financial data.
- Preparing journals and management accounts (where required).
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Intermediate (e.g. pivot tables, lookup / sumif formulas) or Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Experience in building and using complex models to analyse and present data
- Proven written and verbal communication skills
- HNC/HND or equivalent level qualification in a relevant discipline plus previous relevant experience
Or
- Broad experience acquired through on the job training and considerable on-the-job experience.
- Customer-focussed approach and keen to provide excellent service.
- Demonstrate ability to prioritise workload and work to tight schedules.
- Essential attributes must include accuracy and attention to detail.
