We’re looking for a dynamic, friendly and intelligent individual who’s up for an exciting opportunity to come and join our Finance team. We’re looking for a part-qualified accountant with either experience of data analysis, or a keen interest in learning these skills, to join the business. You will be responsible for addressing the business needs for financial compliance, reporting and analysis.

Key responsibilities in this role:
Your role will be in the Management Accounts team, in this role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Playing a key part in monthly financial closing to ensure the numbers we report are accurate – including processing and analysis
- Suggesting and implementing process improvements
- Leading on the development and on-going execution of the company’s financial controls
- Working with teams across the business to understand their operations and processes
- Ownership of regular international VAT submissions (including reconciliations and analyses) in order to meet rigid deadlines
- Engaging with external auditors
- Completing regular balance sheet reconciliations, including improving existing processes
- Learning how to use SQL (or developing existing knowledge), the language we use to access our database, to analyse financial results and find new ways of making the finance team more efficient
- Supporting the Finance team to ensure the wider team achieves departmental objectives
A bit about you

To be successful in this role you must be:
- An experienced accountant within industry, ideally part-qualified through CIMA (or equivalent), with a strong understanding of internal and external financial reporting
- Keen to develop your SQL/data knowledge, or have a keen interest in learning about SQL/data
- Able to draw quick and accurate conclusions when analysing financial results
- Comfortable with obtaining and analysing data to provide valuable business insights
- Confident with accounting concepts
- Disciplined and methodical in your approach to tasks
- Comfortable with challenging existing processes
- Well organised and able to prioritise your workload
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel (using sumifs, index match)
- An effective communicator in both written and verbal English
- Mathematically minded
- A logical thinker who is great at solving problems independently
- Eager to develop your skills and learn new things
Nice to have but not essential:
- Experience with SQL and analysing big data sets
- Experience within an e-commerce business
