Job duties:
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the post holder will work cross functionally providing key business and financial support to Budget Holders and Divisional Finance Managers with a remit to analyse and help to manage Trust's Medical and Dental (M&D) pay expenditure. This role includes reporting on Medical and Dental performance, implementing controls and efficiencies around premium spend, development of business plans, targeting areas for improvement, process change, and providing Establishment Control support for junior doctors.

• Reconcile and communicate Medical and Dental Postgraduate Medical Education funding, and more specifically costs directly related to trainees (e.g. salary support, tariff payments). Liaise with HEE with regards to any discrepancies or queries.

• Support Divisional Finance teams in management of the M&D expenditure budgets and provide up-to-date information relating to DiT numbers.

• Produce Monthly Trust Medical Analysis and Pay Performance reports
• Provide business support and advice to the speciality budget managers, including expert knowledge on M&D staffing group, to help the Trust deliver a balanced financial position, including suggestions on savings initiatives.

• To act as finance lead to specific work stream projects, as agreed with the Senior Finance Manager and Head of Financial Management.

• To prepare and input budgets and journals, including appropriate recharges and carry out month end and year end accounting tasks.

• To provide finance training for corporate and divisional staff to agreed standards and within the agreed corporate framework.

• To assist Divisional Finance Managers in the development and monitoring of budgets for the Divisions and to provide financial advice, both operationally and strategically to Senior Managers/budget-holders.
