Senior Financial Analyst - Cambridge, UK (Hub/Hybrid), 12 month FTC
By joining Illumina as a Senior Financial Analyst, you’ll work within the Business Finance team, supporting our Europe Medical and Commercial functions with reporting and analysis that will enable decision-making and help the organization reach its goals. You will be given a broad range of tasks related to operational activities. This role will provide you with the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment that promotes a strong culture of learning and development.
Please note that this is a 12 month fixed term contract position.

Responsibilities
- Support forecasting, annual strategic planning and budget cycle
- Prepare month end commentary packs for presentation of actuals vs budget/forecast for Senior Management
- Ensure cost centre/project tracking and reporting is accurate, reconciled, with variances are computed and understood, calling out any remediation or actions as required by the analysis
- Manage monthly performance reporting as well as monitor performance against targets , understanding key variances and accruals, and the impact of monthly performance on the full year outlook
- Participate and actively contribute to system and process improvement initiatives
- Identify and communicate Risks and Opportunities to forecast for efficient use of resources
- Support and produce ad hoc analysis to support the Senior Finance Manager, where required
Requirements
- ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified accountants strongly preferred with previous experience within FP&A o Business Finance department
- A high level of attention to detail and strong analytical background
- Experience of handling large and complex data (financial modelling advantageous)
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience with reporting software, Cognos, and IBM Planning Analytics preferred
- Strong communication skills-ability to influence cross functionally and solve complex problems
- Highly organised with ability to work well under pressure and in a flexible, fast-paced environment
- Curious and proactive. We seek to understand problems deeply and are proactive and fact in anticipating future needs (business and customers)
