Financial Valuation Advisory
Over the past 50 years, Houlihan Lokey has established one of the leading global valuation practices. We conduct over 1,000 discrete valuation assignments every year on behalf of a variety of clients including financial institutions, governments, financial sponsors, and companies. Clients seek out Houlihan Lokey for strategic advice on the hardest to value assets for a variety of ongoing activities or transactions.
Houlihan Lokey’s Financial and Valuation Advisory Practice based in London is primarily focused on offering the following services:
- Fairness Opinions: The provision of fairness opinions on various M&A and financial restructuring transactions
- Valuation for Transaction-related Purposes: Independent valuation provided to key stakeholders in transaction processes including Management, Independent board of directors, lenders, trustees and administrators
- Portfolio Valuation: Preparing valuation reports utilized for financial reporting, tax, litigation and regulatory purposes
- Portfolio Acquisition and Divestiture Services: Assisting alternative investors in the underwriting of large complex transactions
Responsibilities
Houlihan Lokey’s Financial and Valuation Advisory team is looking to hire a Financial Analyst to be based in our London office.
As an Analyst in this team, you will be a fully integrated member of our engagement teams. You will work with a dedicated, highly talented staff of professionals who will give you broad exposure to many issues and concerns affecting businesses today.
We offer a unique opportunity to work on a wealth of projects that provide exposure to various financial advisory challenges, including the valuation of complex businesses, securities, and transaction structures.
Responsibilities
- Develop complex financial models and analyze financial statements, industry developments, acquisitions and divestitures, and various investment attributes of publicly traded and privately held companies.
- Support active engagements and participate in our firm’s marketing efforts.
- Assist in the preparation of materials for clients, conduct market, industry and company analyses.
- Review target company financial information and other data to identify: historical and projected financial and operating and commercial trends, quality of earnings, working capital and net debt considerations, and potential liabilities and risks which impact valuation and negotiation of the target company.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Have strong undergraduate qualifications or higher in a relevant degree
- Analyst level experience in a product team within investment banking or experience in either valuation, business modelling, transaction advisory, corporate finance or restructuring teams at one of Big 4 Accountancy firms
- Have strong demonstrable experience in constructing and analyzing financial models; including knowledge of DCF and pricing models
- Experience in conducting transaction related analysis and due diligence
- Understanding of financial statements analysis with the ability to work through key assumptions, implicit caveats, and limitations
- Professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CFA, RICS) will be favourably regarded
- Strong quantitative, financial and analytical skills
- Strong qualitative and quantitative research and analytical abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Additional language skills in French, German or Spanish will be favorably regarded
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- An exceptional strong work ethic
