Established in the 1980’s, Surya Foods is a rapidly expanding, family run business. It supplies a variety of high quality, authentic ethnic products ranging from rice, flour, spices and sauces to snacks and savouries that are sold in over 30 countries worldwide.
Surya Foods is one of the largest suppliers of authentic world foods to the UK food sector. Its unrivalled, extensive world food ranges has seen it become the biggest supplier of world food lines into supermarket giants Tesco, Asda, Aldi,Sainsbury’s and Morrisons.
It also currently distributes over 2,500 core product lines to Independent retail accounts across the UK.
We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst. Reporting to the FP&A Manager and Finance Director, you will be responsible for;
- Support the commercial team’s needs across the key areas
- Preparing, reviewing and reporting variance on key sales and margin data on weekly and monthly basis.
- Monthly Channel and Category-wise profitability and margin reports.
- Responsible for setting up detailed operational and sales budgets, working closely with the business managers.
- Monitor and report budgets versus actuals for operations and sales function.
- Prepare or direct preparation of KPI’s for various departments including listing of the KPI’s.
- Variance analysis against budget, MoM, & YoY performance, trends.
- Assist in preparing reports for financial institutions.
- Creating charts, graphs and tables for business presentations at monthly Sales meetings / Board meetings
- Monitor / maintain pricing and promotions for the products.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate financial issues with non-finance persons

- Prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
- Professional Degree in Finance and/or accounting or studying for a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).
- Educated to ‘A’ level standard.
- At least 3-5 years of commercial experience in the retail, wholesale, or FMCG industries is required.
- Experience of planning, budgeting and forecasting.
- Will need to demonstrate that they can apply theoretical knowledge on relevant aspects of financial analysis into practice.
- Report writing skills. Writing formal reports to Directors
- Advanced IT skills (especially in Excel, QlikView).
