Some exciting opportunities have arisen following changes to the Bedford Borough Council finance team. Bedford Borough Council is one of the fastest growing unitary authorities, with an 18% increase in population in the last census. It is about to embark on a new transformation journey to improve the lives of our residents, businesses and visitors: so it is an exciting time to join us.
Finance has restructured to be a true partner to the service: driving decisions upfront and improving performance. We are now looking for motivated and enthusiastic finance professionals to be part of this.
We are looking for Financial Analysts - 1 for Adults and 1 for Corporate.
Applicants must be AAT qualified (level 4). Previous experience of a similar role is desirable but not essential.
In all the roles, you must be able to work at pace and have excellent communication skills as you will be talking to a broad range of financial and non-finance stakeholders. You will have a broad remit, and access to wider developmental opportunities.
The team work flexibly both in terms of hours and place. One day a month is expected to be spent in the office as a minimum, though there is the option to work in the office every day if desired.
The roles are full-time (37 hours) and permanent. Applications from part-time and job-sharing staff are also welcome.
