We are looking for Financial Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team in our Waterstones office in Solihull.
Financial Accounts Assistant
In this role you would assist the Financial Accounting team in maintaining the overall integrity of financial data and the timeliness and accuracy of both internal and external reporting.
Your responsibilities will include;
- Assisting with the completion and submission of VAT and associated returns – both UK and European.
- Maintenance of fixed asset registers and GL schedules- invoice processing, asset allocation, depreciation.
- Accrual accounting and journal management. Ie management charges, depreciation, prepaid income, and prepayments
- Ensuring accurate and complete balance sheet reconciliations are prepared for all balance sheet TB codes.
- Reconciliation of Intercompany balances, loan accounts and recharge accounts – posting journal adjustments.
- Assist in the preparation of all statistical returns for UK & international entities.
- Turnover certificate preparation and emailing landlords with turnover data.
- Maintaining IFRS 16 reporting systems.
- Collating information for auditors.
- Annual statutory accounts
- Requests from parent company
- Reporting and resolving discrepancies and anomalies in a timely fashion
- Assisting with Month End and preparation of Accounts
What we are looking for:
- 3 years of Accounting Experience
- Advanced Excel
- Basic accounting knowledge (accounting or Finance degree/AAT is preferable)
- A-Level or equivalent
You should also:
- Ability to work on own initiative but also being part of a team; to share ideas and team working
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi task and work to concurrent deadlines
