Role Purpose
The purpose of the financial accounting assistant is to:
    • Perform a number of key roles within the finance team as detailed below focusing on all aspects of banking for Spirit Europe
    • Co-ordinate and control the operation of Concur and compliance with company expenses policy
    • Identify areas of continuous improvement within areas of responsibility and assist in deployment of continuous improvement

Responsibilities:
  • Banking / Payments
    • Responsible for timely preparation of all supplier payment runs.
    • Appropriate allocation of all Spirit Europe banking transaction and reconciliation of all amounts to bank statements.
    • Key Spirit Europe contact for regular communication with Citi Bank Relationship Manager.
    • Facilitate FX trades using Citi Trading Desk or FXall platform.
  • Cash forecasting / Treasury
    • Preparation and submission of weekly cash forecast file to the Corporate Treasury team in the US.
    • Weekly call with US Corporate Treasury Team to review cash forecast and explain variances.
    • Preparations and submission of quarterly EAC cash forecast to US Corporate Treasury Team.
    • Preparations and submission of quarterly EAC fx forecast to US Corporate Treasury Team.
  • Expenses
    • Subject matter expert on Concur and Company Expenses with full accountability for financial review and authorisation of all company expenses claimed.
    • Site administrator for Concur with responsibility for resolving all site queries.
    • Responsible for timely and accurate payment to employees of submitted, approved expenses in line with company policy.
    • Support/Back up to Belfast team on Concur and all queries.
  • Month End / Financial Reporting
    • Responsible for completion of all banking, prepayments and provisions month end activity.
    • Completion of Blackline reconciliations for review.
    • Monthly analysis of SG&A costs and reporting to US accounting team.
    • Monthly submission of DPO invoice report to US accounting team.
    • Monthly submission of corporate purchasing spend to US accounting team.
    • Preparation of quarterly SEC pack and submission to US consolidation team.
  • VAT Return
    • Timely and accurate completion and submission of VAT return to HMRC ensuring compliance with VAT regulations.
  • Sox
    • Ensure all required SOX sign offs are obtained in a timely manner.
    • Provide required SOX documentation to internal / external auditors.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Experience working in a Finance
  • University Degree Qualification
  • Good communication skills. Ability to communicate confidently and clearly
  • Good computer literacy – particularly Excel and SAP
  • Using knowledge and experience to promote process improvement
  • Effective relationship management skills

Decision Making Authority
  • Ability to apply initiative when completing tasks seeking guidance only as/when needed
  • Expected to assist Team Leader/Financial Accounting Manager, deputising as/when required
  • Full authority for making day to day decisions regarding all areas of responsibility
