The team leader will primarily focus on supporting the financial accounting for Service Plans and Branded Goods with shared responsibility for Aftermarket Parts, for both the UK and Overseas markets. You will be responsible for overseeing the month end process to ensure all standard journals are processed and perform high level analytics prior to issuance of trial balances to markets. Outside of month end responsibility will be mainly focussed around maintaining and updating a large number of complex accounting files that control the Service Plan deferred revenue calculations used for month end, managing the annual Service Plan DPU (Deferral Per Unit) review and calculation, perform Service plan performance reporting, and fielding and supporting queries from the Service Plan and Aftermarket business partners.


This role will also share some Aftermarket responsibilities with another Grade D in the team.


As the Finance Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for:


Service Plan

  • Control of deferred revenue and revenue release in line with IFRS15 for all markets and approval of month end journals
  • Ensure Sox controls are in place and adhered to (from calculation to application of Annual MY DPU’s)
  • Maintain and keep updated a large number of complex accounting files that control the deferred revenue calculations
  • Financial analysis and review – being able to develop financial analysis for inclusion in business case decision making
  • Working with and managing relationship with Global Service Ops on key operational issues (pricing, claims data, service plan change requests, etc)
  • Business partnering and challenging requests where necessary to service plan changes
  • Oversee service plan performance files and reporting
  • Leading team to support team deliverables
  • Support forecast and budget process
  • Support Audit walk throughs with KPMG and documentation requests


Aftermarket

  • Shared responsibility for Aftermarket month end which includes booking of Parts Inventory, Freight & Fees, I/C balancing journals through to sending of TB’s to all overseas markets for local booking for GB03
  • Business partnering with all markets including GFS teams, Inventory Finance, Branded Goods Finance
  • Look for opportunities to outsource work to TMLBSL to take on more journals / workload from the Business into GFS


WHAT YOU’LL NEED


You’ll joins us with previous experience of working in Finance as well this you’ll have strong analytical skills with an eye for detail and the ability to review, challenge and embed key processes.


Naturally, you’ll have strong communication skills – able to effectively interpret and communicate financial data to both senior finance and non-finance customer base.


Experience of managing or developing a team would be essential within this role.


Ideally, you’ll have a degree or relevant equivalent experience would be preferred.


Desirable:
  • CIMA / ACCA / ACA part-qualified/ qualified
  • Strong IT skills, particularly with Excel including ability to work with complex models and large volumes of data
  • Good working knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems
  • Previous experience of working with Access Databases/ Google Cloud Platform / Tableau desired but not essential
  • Previous experience within shared service finance team and / or supporting commercial teams
  • Proven demonstration of a continuous improvement mind-set - able to pro-actively identify and implement process improvement opportunities
